This year has certainly brought about its share of changes, including some setbacks and delays in various aspects of our lives. However, I am pleased to report that the announcement of Green Card results, which I had anticipated being released at a later date, came out today, June 6th, as scheduled.

No matter where you are in the world, once you have won the Green Card lottery, you can confidently start your application directly from your current country of residence. While it's not mandatory to be in Turkey, it is recommended to minimize costs, especially due to foreign currency rates.

Kindly note that it's crucial to be a legal resident at the address you provide. Your files will be sent to the specified address, and in case of a lost file, requesting for a second file will cause further delays, which can be avoided by ensuring that the correct address is provided from the onset.

With the acquisition of your Green Card, you will be able to enter the United States and commence work without delay. This card serves as proof of identification and authorization to live and work within the US legally.

After obtaining your Green Card, you will have the freedom to travel to various countries, including Canada, without the hassle of obtaining a visa. That's correct, a visa is not required. For more detailed information, please refer to the visa terms and conditions pages of the countries you intend to visit.

How can we find out the results of our DV-2021 Green Card application for 2020?

To get started, you'll need your "Confirmation Number". If you happen to recall it, just head over to https://dvlottery.state.gov/ and enter it there. However, if you've forgotten it, don't worry! Simply click "Forgot Confirmation Number" on the same link to retrieve it.

To check the status, click the "Check Status" button on the linked page, followed by the "Continue" button. You will then see a screen similar to the one shown in the image above.

From here, in order:

Confirmation Number: After submitting your green card application, enter the number provided by the system.

Last/Family Name: Kindly provide your last name in this field with confidence.

Year of Birth: Kindly provide the year in which you were born.

Authentication: Enter your verification code and press Submit.

Congratulations! If you see the "Diversity Visa Lottery Form was selected for further processing" screen with a green title, it means you have won the Green Card.

"You have been randomly selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for the fiscal year 2021 (October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021). Selection does not guarantee that you will receive a visa because the number of applicants selected is greater than the number of visas available. Therefore, it is very important that you carefully follow instructions to increase your chances of possible visa issuance. The instructions are located on the Department of State website at http://dvselectee.state.gov. All DV applicants must use the online DS-260 Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application."

Rest assured that if you see a result like the following screen, "HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED," it simply means that you were not selected as a winner.

How Do You Find Out If You Have Made Your Application Through a Consulting Firm?

When applying for the Green Card through a consultancy firm, they will review the results of all applications and only contact winning candidates for payment. It is important to note that payment is necessary to obtain your Confirmation Number. Keep in mind that without this number, you will not be able to receive your Green Card even if you are a winner.
