Are You Aware? We'Re X-Rayed.

When individuals from foreign countries come to our nation, it is commonplace for them to encounter X-ray devices in numerous locations.

I have been living in New York, USA for the past two years and have confidently passed through numerous X-ray devices, including those in shopping malls and public transportation vehicles. However, I have yet to encounter any X-ray devices in these public spaces. Despite the ongoing threat of terrorism, X-ray devices are not frequently utilized outside of airports and certain government agencies.

It is worth noting that men in the United States are legally allowed to carry firearms in public without being required to disarm.

Since my return to Turkey, I have noticed a significant change in the way businesses operate. In malls, individuals are now required to pass through an X-Ray device. If you are carrying a bag, you must also queue up for the X-Ray device. Even when taking the subway, you will be required to go through an X-Ray device. As a result, on average, 3-4 people in Istanbul are exposed to X-rays every day.

The government will announce a terrorist threat in the country. It is a common occurrence for every country to face such threats, and citizens should not be treated unjustly. Additionally, some friends may claim that Europe is envious of the country. However, it is unlikely that Europe would be envious given the country’s reliance on European technology, devices, and planes. Such claims are baseless and unfounded. It is time for better leadership.

The Consumers Union’s complaint regarding the X-Ray device is accurate. The following explanation is included:

When using these detectors without proper adjustment and control, false alarms can be triggered for items such as a knife that may not even be sharp enough to cut an apple. It is highly unlikely that such an item could cause harm to another person. Ironically, security guards may still feel compelled to confiscate the harmless item. In contrast, shopping malls sell far more dangerous tools such as cordless drills and sawmills. Even in a restaurant where a meal costs only 10 lira, sharp knives and forks are provided. Some shops even sell metal scissors. This highlights the fact that the x-ray devices installed at official institutions may not be primarily for security, but rather a marketing tactic.

It’s obvious what they’ve done to the country.
