Instagram Shutdown in Turkey! How to Overcome This Crisis?
0:000:00

In today's podcast, we'll discuss Instagram's access blockade in Turkey. Currently, Instagram cannot be accessed through normal means, neither from computers nor mobile devices. Some may be happy about this situation, while others may be upset. Especially those earning money from these platforms and seeking fake happiness are negatively affected by this decision.

Whether Instagram's shutdown is right or wrong is debatable, but I won't dive too deeply into political sides here. I'm on the side of Instagram being opened, but we need to evaluate this situation objectively. Let's discuss Instagram's shutdown and how we can overcome it with minimal damage. I believe this shutdown won't be just a 1-2 day event; it could last longer.

I did some research online but unfortunately found only political content. Let's evaluate this matter logically. Turkey typically imposes penalties on social media platforms and demands automatic deletion of certain content. Meta opened a representative office in Turkey to meet these demands and started responding to requests from Turkey. However, on July 31, Meta announced that it recognizes Hamas and its leader Haniye as a terrorist organization and will automatically remove such content. Subsequently, Instagram removed videos of funeral prayers in absentia for Haniye recited by the Directorate of Religious Affairs. This situation was met with reaction from Turkey, and Instagram was shut down.

This event is part of a power struggle, and Instagram's closure produces certain consequences. But don't worry, technology is advancing rapidly and projects like Starlink will provide free internet access. During this process, issues like phone IMEI registrations will also change. Technology is moving toward freedom.

So Instagram is shut down, but what can we do? For individual users, I recommend using VPN. However, stay away from free VPNs and prefer paid, secure VPNs. You can access Instagram using a VPN like Windscribe. For businesses, the situation is a bit more complex. Small and medium-sized enterprises should shift their resources to other platforms and work with agencies to get professional support. Invest in Google advertising, SEO, and other digital marketing strategies.

Instagram's closure can be an opportunity for some businesses. Companies that have invested in Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn platforms will be advantaged during this period. SEO work is also an important investment source, and you must invest in this area to maintain your digital presence. When situations like this occur, investing in other channels will be beneficial.

Finally, Roblox, another banned platform, is drawing attention. Turkey's banning of digital platforms is not the right approach. For this reason, businesses and individual users should take quick action to protect themselves from such losses and turn to other platforms.

If you think you're suffering from Instagram's closure, roll up your sleeves today and start working. For individual users, using VPN might be sufficient, but for businesses, getting professional support and directing resources correctly is important. Instagram may be closed, but it's possible to overcome this situation with minimal damage and even turn it into an advantage.
