How to Sell in Virtual Marketplaces and Sales Increase Techniques

For many sellers wanting to sell online, the question of whether virtual marketplaces (N11, Gittigidiyor, Hepsiburada, Amazon, E-Pttavm, Trendyol, etc.) or a new e-commerce website is more advantageous is always a topic of interest.

There are many ways to market your products online. You can sell your products through your own e-commerce website, virtual marketplaces (N11, Gittigidiyor, Hepsiburada, Amazon, E-Pttavm, Trendyol, etc.), or by using both approaches.

If you're new to e-commerce and have no experience, you should definitely start by selling on virtual marketplaces. Entering virtual marketplaces is less costly than e-commerce. Virtual marketplaces don't require new technical infrastructure or payment systems—you only need to open a store. However, building an e-commerce website requires new technical infrastructure, payment method integration, e-commerce site management, setup, and maintenance costs, creating higher expenses.

You need to gain the trust of customers whether they shop on virtual marketplaces or your e-commerce website. However, customers prefer shopping on well-known virtual marketplaces rather than unfamiliar e-commerce websites with low brand recognition.

Both platforms have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, for low costs and access to an existing customer base, starting with virtual marketplaces would be the smarter decision as a seller. After gaining the necessary brand recognition and increasing sales for our store, we can take the second step by building our own branded e-commerce website.
